#MNR: TO THE EAST, BLACKWARDS “I wish I had a quarter for all my people they slaughtered.” Special Ed There have been seven military coups and conflicts on the continent of Africa in the past six years: Guinea, Mali, Chad, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Ethiopia. The last two are currently engaged in civil war. Cameroon is engaged in the Anglophone Crisis, and Ethiopia is engaged in the Tigray War. Each coup and conflict tears at the fabric of its respective nation, and deep humanitarian crises (including sexual violence) have developed. It comes as no surprise that the United States has done the bare minimum by way of direct support to many (or all) of these countries. tRump outright blocked aid to Ethiopia; Biden’s merely done a lot of talking. Look, I’m not saying America owes these nations a damn thing. I’m just seeing and recognizing the apathy when it comes to Mother Africa and absolute empathy when it comes to lighter skinned [European] nations in peril. It shouldn’t be and isn’t a surprise. America has already [REDACTED] the continent for all it wanted to plunder. What may come as an absolute surprise is that Russia has given aid to several African nations in peril. They’ve helped with infrastructure, amongst other things. This is likely the reason that sixteen African countries who are members of the United Nations gave a no vote/abstained from taking sides on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They’ve chosen to mind their damn business. And, in the most polite manner, they’re showing that they could care less about the Russia/Ukraine war. They’ve got more than enough on their own plates to deal with. AND I FEEL THE EXACT SAME. I’m not a fan of civilians getting bombed and killed. I don’t wish death on anyone. Civilians do not deserve having to endure bombing and mass casualties. I sympathize with all the children who are victims. But I’m a free thinker. I’m cerebral. This very nation has done the same thing to foreign nations in wartime. It’s either swept under the rug or justified as necessary to the cause. The United States killed ten innocent civilians, including seven children, on a dense residential block in a drone strike in Kabul, Afghanistan less than a year ago, then attempted to lie about it. A 2019 U.S. airstrike killed dozens of women and children in Syria. It was “buried” by the military. In 2017, a secret American force bombed a Syrian dam that was on a “no-strike” list. A trove of hidden Pentagon records revealed systemic failures to prevent civilian deaths in U.S. airstrikes. But it’s all good, right? It must be, for everything was done in effort to eliminate the enemy. Miss me with the bullshit hypocrisy. There were 12K Africans trapped in Ukraine when the war began. Many were students. Reports have confirmed that the Ukrainian government made sure my African brothers and sisters were the last to leave, absolutely because of the color of their skin. My people were able to flee, but only after facing blatant degradation and disregard, further endangering their well-being. Please enlighten me on how that’s admirable. I’ll wait... AND I’M SUPPOSED TO FEEL SORRY FOR PEOPLE WHO DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT MY PEOPLE? [REDACTED] War is hell. I can’t genuinely feel for those who don’t feel for me. It may contrast with my Christian tenants, but I was also indoctrinated by Brother Malcolm. I’m gonna worry about MY people. “They” choose not to. This is in no way a Russian endorsement. I don’t agree with their tactics. I’m not a fan of the war. But hey, it isn’t my beef. This is me simply expressing that I’m choosing to mind my damn business. I’m not overly concerned with what happens, respectfully. If you feel that I’m wrong, REREAD THE FACTS I’ve clearly stated in this blog. If you’re still upset with how I feel, cool. See me when you see me. I said what the fuck I had to say. Y’all can continue on. And I haven’t even mentioned what’s been done to my Haitian brothers and sisters – yet.
